Advanced Urban Escape and Evasion
Four Days and One Night of Field Training in Urban Escape, Evasion, Survival, Sustainment, and Recovery
Getting home is only half the problem. Sometimes there is no immediate route to safety.
Roads may be blocked. Transportation may be unavailable. Returning home may expose you to greater danger than remaining concealed. In these situations, the ability to survive comfortably and unnoticed for hours or even days can become the difference between success and failure.
The Advanced Urban Escape & Evasion Course expands upon our flagship three-day program by adding an intensive field-training phase focused on urban sustainment, concealment, and low-profile living before students join the complete Basic Urban Escape & Evasion curriculum.
Training begins Wednesday afternoon in a local urban or suburban park, where students will spend the evening learning how to live discreetly in environments that most people pass through every day without noticing.
Unlike traditional wilderness survival courses, this training focuses on surviving in developed environments using practical equipment, improvised resources, and sound decision-making, not by disappearing into the mountains.
Students will learn how to:
- Select safe, low-profile overnight locations in urban and suburban environments.
- Build concealed temporary hide sites using naturally available terrain and vegetation.
- Start fires using multiple ignition methods when conditions permit and it is safe to do so.
- Understand when not to build a fire and how to evaluate light, smoke, heat, and scent signatures.
- Prepare simple field meals with lightweight cooking equipment.
- Manage water procurement, purification, and storage.
- Organize escape packs and sustainment equipment for extended movement.
- Develop practical shelter systems for overnight urban camping.
- Improve personal comfort while minimizing visibility.
- Manage light discipline, noise discipline, and general fieldcraft.
- Build confidence operating independently in unfamiliar environments.
The Wednesday field phase emphasizes practical skills, judgment, and adaptability through hands-on instruction in a controlled setting. Students finish the evening with a deeper understanding of how to sustain themselves while maintaining a low profile.
Beginning Thursday morning, Advanced students transition directly into the complete Basic Urban Escape & Evasion Course, where they build on those foundational field skills with three additional days of immersive instruction covering:
- Urban situational awareness
- Threat recognition and pre-incident indicators
- Urban movement and route planning
- Escape from unlawful restraint
- Physical security fundamentals and lock manipulation using dedicated training equipment
- Improvised problem solving
- Protective planning
- Social engineering for lawful information gathering and conflict avoidance
- Surveillance awareness
- Urban recovery exercises
- Practical scenario-based training
By the conclusion of the four-day program, students will have spent more than thirty hours developing practical capabilities that few civilians ever have the opportunity to practice under professional instruction.
This course is designed for individuals who want to move beyond emergency preparedness theory and develop real-world competence through guided experience.
Whether your goal is to be better prepared for civil unrest, natural disasters, prolonged infrastructure failures, or other emergencies that disrupt everyday life, the Advanced Urban Escape & Evasion Course provides a structured progression from field sustainment to urban movement and recovery.
Preparation is more than carrying equipment. It is the confidence that comes from having solved difficult problems before you are forced to solve them alone.
